Sample Submission Information

Our fees for asbestos fibre identification in bulk samples by Polarised Light Microscopy (PLM) is $55.00 per sample, inclusive of GST.
Where to Send / Deliver Samples
If you choose to collect the samples yourself, they may be delivered in person or sent to our Stones Corner/ Greenslopes laboratory located at:

Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (no appointment necessary). Our standard turnaround time for analysis results is within 24 to 48 hours of sample receipt. Please contact us should you require more urgent analysis results.
Sample Submission Process
To submit a sample or samples for analysis, please follow the steps below:
- Australian Standard AS5370 – “Sampling and qualitative identification of asbestos in bulk materials”, specifies the minimum sample size should be between 5 to 100 grams. For vinyl tiles the minimum sample size should be 50 cm2. Refer to Sampling Procedure – Download PDF Sampling Procedure
- Double-bag each sample individually using two zip-lock seal bags and clearly label the bags with the sample location (e.g. bathroom wall)
- Complete the Sample Submission Form – Download Sample Submission Form
- Deliver or send the sample(s) to our laboratory street address above.
- Payment will be requested upon completion of the analysis.
- Once payment has been received, a Certificate of Analysis and payment receipt will be issued to your nominated email address. Payment may be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT) upon receipt of an invoice, or via credit card by contacting our office during business hours.
